Learning Circles is a journalism career development program run by The Diversity Pledge Institute that centers mentorship and peer-to-peer learning with a goal of diversifying newsrooms across the nation. Led by career veterans, participants learn critical workplace skills such as leadership, business strategies, and networking in a small group setting. By the end of the program, participants will have the knowledge and support to reach their career goals.
DPI understands the importance of continued mentorship and professional development — especially when someone begins a new career — which is why DPI supports journalists as they settle and grow into each respective new role with continued check-ins.
DPI coaches work with participants to identify opportunities that fit their needs. The coaches also support journalists throughout the application, interview, and offer negotiation process, and will continue to provide mentorship and support to journalists throughout the first two years of their new jobs.
